For the second year in a row, Hotel Institute Montreux has ranked in the top 8 institutions in the world for hospitality management, confirming the quality of our educational offer that combines the best of hospitality and business.
If 2021 saw our school make an impressive headway into the pantheon of top ten schools, 2022 firmly establishes our reputation. We are particularly proud of how we have improved our average scores for academic and employer reputation.
Why Hotel Institute Montreux is among the best hospitality schools in the world
1. Highly regarded by employers
We are firm believers in the dual Swiss model which skillfully integrates theory and practice. Through numerous industry partnerships and an ever-growing list of alumni who return to share their success stories with current students, the curriculum is informed by the industry and supports our students’ employability and career development.
“Our close collaboration with industry partners breathes real life into the classroom — real problems, real challenges, real insights, all of this equips our students to graduate with an accurate understanding of the challenges they will face in the workplace,” explains our dean, Ulrika Bjorklund.
2. Academic reputation
The strong academic partnership we nurture with Northwood University guarantees the quality of our education delivery. The hospitality management program at Northwood is one of the few accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), which strengthens our positioning as a business-minded hospitality school.
“The combination of our academic programs with high-quality industry partnerships helps our students develop key business skills, giving them access to numerous career opportunities, explains Ms. Bjorklund.
The Bachelor of Business Administration has also been fully accredited by FIBAA, which is a clear measure of the level of academic rigor of the program.
3. Staying ahead of the curve
We are committed to maintaining a standard of excellence, while always keeping an eye on the horizon to what is coming up. Our modern curriculum is designed to ensure students are ahead of today’s trends, and covers topics including digitalization, artificial intelligence, and business sustainability.
Ms. Bjorklund shares, “New positions are being created that didn’t exist before, technology continues to evolve, sustainability is increasingly important — we stay attuned to changes in the industry and prepare our students accordingly.”
4. A strong community of faculty, staff, students, and alumni
Achieving this kind of academic recognition is a combined effort that reflects the dedication of everyone involved, from operations to academic staff, current students, and alumni.
Ms. Bjorklund explains, “Being a small, ‘boutique’ school means that every student can engage with faculty and guest speakers, ask questions, and create a solid network of peers. There is a real sense of family which permeates the atmosphere.”
